The Dubai Marina is a gigantic artificially constructed marina. Around the marina you will see many skyscrapers, hotels, apartments, shops and recreational areas. With an area of over 1.5 square kilometers, the Dubai Marina is the largest water sports and living project in the world. Thanks to the variety between the buildings, the marinas, the water and the recreational areas, this part of Dubai has become a special place where you can relax, especially in the evenings. So, you can enjoy the cool evening hours on the promenade along the water of the Dubai Marina, dine in one of the restaurants or take a boat trip on the water and along the beach.
Marina Walk en The Walk
The Marina Walk is a boulevard located along the marina where you can eat and drink on the various terraces with a magnificent view of the marina, the water and the skyscrapers in the background. Especially in the evenings it is pleasantly busy here with a mix of locals and tourists. The adjacent boulevard The Walk with The Beach at JBR behind it is also worth a visit. The boulevard of The Walk and The Beach are located in the older Jumeirah Beach Residences (JBR) area. Funny to know is that, years ago, JBR was the only built-up area.
They added so much with the Dubai Marina that it has grown to where it is today.
In the area of The beach you can relax on the beach during the day and in the evening hours this area is a popular location for shopping and dining in one of the many restaurants in the area. From here you also have a magnificent view of the largest Ferris wheel in the world, the Ain Dubai.
Boat trip on the Dubai Marina
The Dubai Marina is already impressive to discover from the street and the boulevard, but the area makes the most impression when viewed from the water with a cruise. Many boat trips leave from the Dubai Marina and sail through the Dubai Marina then they sail up to the sea. Some boat trips also make a trip to the Palm Jumeirah island and / or the Burj al Arab.
You can choose for a relaxed abra tour including dinner, a trip with a normal boat or a wild ride with a Yellow Boat. Or rent a jet ski and sail through the Dubai Marina or book a parasailing trip.

Skyscrapers in the Dubai Marina
Many skyscrapers can be found in the Dubai Marina, you can count already to 200 skyscrapers. Some of those towers raise more than 300 meters into the air. This is why the neighbourhood has a number of world records. For example, the Infinity Tower is the world’s tallest building that rotates 90 degrees around its own axis. The Princess Tower with its 414 meters high and 107 floors has officially been the tallest residential tower in the world since 2012. The area where the Princess Tower is built is also known as the world’s highest residential area thanks to the presence of a large number of residential buildings that are higher than 300 meters. This provides a special skyline which can be seen clearly from the Dubai Marina, and especially from the sea.
Like almost every neighborhood in Dubai, the Dubai Marina also has its own shopping mall, the Dubai Marina Mall. The mall has more than 160 stores spread over 4 floors and is located on both Sheik Zayed Road and the waterfront of the Dubai Marina. Thanks to its location on the water, the shopping center is also easily accessible with the water taxis and the RTA taxi buses. The entry and exit location of the water taxis is at level P.
Next to the Dubai Marina Mall is Pier 7, a great location if you want to eat. Seven special restaurants are located in this pretty round tower, each with an amazing view of the Dubai Marina. However, the restaurants in Pier 7 are not cheap. Do you want a cheap dinner in the Dubai Marina with a beautiful view? Then you have to go to the Food Court of the Dubai Marina Mall, thanks to the outside terrace and the location on the waterfront of the Dubai Marina you have a beautiful panoramic view of the Dubai Marina from the terrace.
How do I get to the Dubai Marina?
The easiest way to travel to the Dubai Marina is with the Dubai metro in combination with the Dubai Tram. If you get off at the Marina Metro Station you walk within a few minutes to the Marina Walk where most of the terraces and the marina are located. Parking in the Dubai Marina is more difficult due to the limited presence of public parking spaces. The best option is the parking garage of the Dubai Marina Mall.
Of course, you can also take a taxi to the Dubai Marina. You can be dropped off at the roundabout, directly on the Marina Walk from where you can walk onto the Dubai Marina boulevard within a few minutes.
