Al Mamzar Beach Park

The Al Mamzar Beach Park in Dubai is a 106-hectare park with its own beach in the old part of Dubai, near the border with the neighboring emirate of Sharjah. In the park, besides relaxing on the beach, you can also enjoy walking, cycling along winding paths, having a barbecue with friends and family at one of the barbecue locations, or swimming in the pool. Children can have fun in the playgrounds or take a ride on the train.

It is also possible to rent a private chalet for one or more days. There are a total of 15 modern bungalows for rent, all equipped with air conditioning, showers, and a barbecue. The bungalows are located on beach number 4.

Visiting Al Mamzar Park in Dubai

Al Mamzar Park features five beautiful sandy beaches, each with its own lifeguard, changing rooms with showers, and plenty of shade for when you’ve had enough sun. In addition to the beautiful white sand beach, Al Mamzar Park also has plenty of greenery. Spread throughout the park are over 1900 palm trees and more than 6000 trees of various species. In total, there are a whopping 55,000 square meters of greenery in the park. Plenty of shady spots!

The park also features a large swimming pool with three different pools for both adults and children. There is ample space to sit and lounge around the pool, and there are changing rooms with showers available.

Eating places

Those who have worked up an appetite can cook their own food at one of the 28 barbecue locations scattered throughout the park. These special barbecue spots are equipped with barbecue sets, umbrellas, and plenty of chairs. Additionally, there are various picnic areas in the park where you can enjoy a picnic with friends or family in the shade. If you don’t feel like cooking your own food, you can dine at the restaurant in the park or at one of the ten snack houses in the park.

Sports & the Amphitheaters

In the park, there are ample opportunities for sports. You’ll find various basketball, football, and volleyball courts. You can rent different types of bicycles to ride through the park or jog on the many paths. For those who enjoy skateboarding, there’s a skateboard park available.

Al Mamzar Park has its own amphitheatre where musicals and music performances are regularly held. The amphitheatre is directly behind the main entrance and is easily recognizable by its white roof and round seating.

Entrance Fees & Opening Hours

The entrance fee for Al Mamzar Beach Park is 5 dirhams per person, with an additional 30 dirhams if you come by car. Children under 2 years old and disabled individuals have free entry. The entrance fee for the swimming pool is 10 dirhams for adults and 5 dirhams for children.

As the park is enclosed, Al Mamzar Beach Park is not open 24 hours a day. From Sunday to Wednesday, the park is open from 08:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. On Thursday to Saturday and during public holidays, the park is open from 08:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. During Ramadan, the park is open from 08:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Note that Monday and Wednesday are Ladies’ days, and men and boys over 6 years old are not allowed inside.

The park has three main entrances, one of which is for vehicles only, and the other two are for pedestrians. If you arrive by car, you can park in the dedicated parking lot with space for 600 cars. If this parking lot is full, there is a second parking location near the park with space for 1200 cars.

Rules in the beach

When visiting the beaches in Dubai, there are several rules to follow. It is prohibited to walk or lie topless or naked on the beach. Swimming in the sea after sunset is also prohibited. Taking photos of people on the beach is not allowed. Overview photos are usually fine, but photographing individuals, especially women, is not permitted.

Regarding clothing, the beach in Dubai is not much different from beaches in america or Spain. You’ll see women wearing small bikinis or swimsuits and men wearing short or long swim trunks. The only difference is that in Dubai, you’ll also see women wearing burkinis on the beach, whereas in Europe, this is rare. Keep in mind that in Dubai, it’s not appreciated to walk around outside the beach area in your beach attire. Beachwear is only intended for the beach. If you plan to visit the boulevard, a shop, or dine at a restaurant, wear a t-shirt, dress, or pants and shirt.
