Dubai is not only the city of sun, sea, beach and shopping until you drop, you can also go out in the evening in one of the many restaurants, bars and clubs. Besides the normal bars and clubs, Dubai also has a large number of rooftop bars which are very popular with the locals because of the view, the atmosphere, the delicious food and the great cocktails.
We have put together a list with eight amazing rooftop bars in Dubai. No matter which one you choose, they all have one thing in common: all the rooftop bars in Dubai offer a great view of the city, the beach and the Persian Gulf!
Above – Sofitel Dubai Downtown
The rooftop bar Above is located in the 5 star hotel Sofitel Dubai which is located in the middle of Downtown Dubai on Sheikh Zayed Road. From the terrace of Above you have a panoramic view of the pride of Dubai, the Burj Khalifa. The bar is completely in the open air but thanks to the air conditioners which are nicely hidden in the walls you can also sit perfectly on the terrace in the warm summer months without worrying about the heat.
The Above rooftop bar is known as the jewel among the bars of the Sofitel hotel chain and you’ll notice that immediately when you visit this bar. The bar is decorated with luxurious materials, the staff is very service oriented and all that with a special view of the Downtown Dubai skyline. Every night a live house and electric DJ is played in Above and you understand where Above is among many locals in the top 3 of favorite (rooftop) bars.
Above is open all year round from 18:00 to 03:00 at night. Especially in the evenings it is great to stay on the terrace of Above, thanks to the magnificent view of the illuminated Burj Khalifa, the fountain show of the Dubai Fountain and the LED show which can be admired every evening on the Burj Khalifa. Uptown Bar – Jumeirah Beach Hotel Uptown, Jumeirah Beach Hotel
Located on the 24th floor of the iconic Jumeirah beach Hotel, the rooftop bar Uptown Bar offers a great panoramic view of Dubai’s most famous building, the Burj al Arab. You also have a great view over the Persian Gulf and on the other side the impressive skyline of Downtown Dubai, the Sheik Zayed Road and the Dubai Marina.
The Uptown rooftop bar is a cocktail bar with a different theme every night with Happy Hours and special post-brunch offers on Fridays. To visit the Uptown Bar you must be at least 21 years old. The dress code is smart casual. The Uptown Bar at Jumeirah Beach Hotel is open daily from 5 PM to 2 AM. The bar closes half an hour before closing time and you can no longer get drinks there. Level 43 Sky Lounge
The Level 43 Sky Lounge is, as the name suggests, on the 43rd floor of the Four Points by Sheraton hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road. It is one of the highest skybars in all of Dubai with an outdoor terrace 150 meters above the ground and a 360 degree over the Dubai skyline.
The bar is one of the best hotel bars in the Middle East so a visit to this bar should not be missed during your vacation in Dubai. The dress code of Level 43 is smart casual, the atmosphere is chillout / lounge so do not expect loud music and dancing people. Every day there are happy hours between 18:00 and 20:00 in the Level 43 Sky. The menu card consists of a wide range of cocktails and mocktails, hot and cold drinks, small meals and various high tea packages.

The Rooftop Terrace & Sports Lounge
The Rooftop Terrace & Sports Lounge can be found in the luxurious 5-star hotel The One & Only Royal Mirage which is located not so far from Palm Jumeirah. This rooftop bar is different from all other rooftop bars in Dubai, because you will not find a minimalistic design in the interior, but a serene, traditional and colorful Arabic design that always feels cozy in The Rooftop.
If you are crazy about sports, this is also the place to be, inside you can watch a large number of sports on TV screens. If you’re tired of sport, you can enjoy a delicious cocktail in the open air and the view over the Palm Island and the skyline of the Dubai Marina.
Iris
The rooftop bar Iris is located on the 27th floor of the Oberoi Dubai hotel in the Business Bay and offers a magnificent view of the Burj Khalifa and the Downtown Dubai skyline. The special feature of the Iris rooftop bar is the fact that there is a complete art gallery in the bar. This rooftop bar has the best sounds of smooth lounge music courtesy of live international bands performing two nights a week. At Saturday there are Chill-Out Sessions that starts at 8 am.
When it comes to drinks, Iris is good for you, the cocktails are made from fresh ingredients by a talented group of waiters. Atelier M – Pier 7
Atelier M can be found in the Pier 7 tower in the Dubai Marina and offers next to a restaurant a great rooftop bar with the ideal drinks for after meals. They call it the little haven in the Dubai Marina. From the terrace of Atelier M you have a panoramic view over the skyline of the Dubai Marina.
Every evening there are well-known DJs in Atelier M and regularly there are themed events such as Halloween and New Year’s Eve. Every Thursday night there is Ladies Night and women receive three free drinks between 20:00 and 23:00.

Pure Sky Lounge
The Pure Sky Lounge is located on the 35th floor of the Al Bahar Tower in the Jumeirah Beach Residence and is part of the Hilton Dubai The Walk hotel. If you are looking for the best sky bar in Dubai with an amazing view of the sunset then the Pure Sky Lounge is the place to be. Pure Sky Lounge offers two large open-air terraces, an open-air barbecue and a large drinks menu so you will not get hungry or thirsty while enjoying the sunset. during the “Sunset Brunch”.

40 Kong – H Hotel
On the 40th floor of the H Hotel you can find the amazing 40 Kong rooftop bar. This high-end rooftop bar is located on the prestigious number 1 of Sheik Zayed Road. It offers a panoramic view of the skyline of Sheik Zayed Road, Downtown Dubai and the old part of Dubai around the Dubai Creek.
The dress code of 40 Kong is smart elegant, that means no shorts or shirts without sleeves for men, no shoes or caps and no slippers. You must be 21 years or older to visit 40 Kong and you must have a reservation for a table or you must be on the guest list. Reservations can be made by phone or by mail of the rooftop bar. 40 Kong is open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m.
